The SHRM Essentials of HR Management is an introductory course offering a complete overview of human resource roles and responsibilities.  In this course you will cover real-life HR issues and current vital topics including: employment law and labor relations; selecting qualified employees; compensation; orientation and training; and the performance management process.  You gain practical HR knowledge and skills to improve HR performance. 

Performance Objectives:  Upon successful completion of this course you should be able to:

  • Gain a clear understanding of the HR function.
  • Increase your knowledge of employment law to reduce the risk of litigation.
  • Develop important skills for selecting employees.
  • Understand the key elements of a total compensation system.
  • Enhance your knowledge of employee, development, and training.
  • Learn the process and purpose of performance appraisals.

NOTE:  SHRM issues a “Certificate of Completion” when the participant successfully passes the web based post test with a score of 80% or better.
