Every 24 months, the WA State Department of Personnel (DOP) administers the 13 question State Employee Survey. 

2009 Survey closed October 15
Results will be available December 1.



18,415* employees completed the centrally-administered survey through October 15. 

 


 

*Includes only those agencies for which DOP is centrally administering the survey; does not include some large agencies that are self-administering the survey.

Results will be compared with 2007 Survey
In November 2007...
  • 72 agencies, boards, and commissions participated in the survey
  • 35,838 employees took the survey, for a response rate of 58%
  • 18 agencies had an overall score of 4.0 or higher
  • Statewide, the overall average score was 3.80, compared to 3.78 in April 2006.*

*A rating scale of 1 (lowest) to 5 (highest) is used.  The improvement from 2006 to 2007 is statistically significant at a 95% confidence level.  Key factors for statistical significance are size of change, number of respondents, and degree of variability among responses.
