Every 24 months, the WA State Department of Personnel (DOP) administers the 13 question State Employee Survey.

*Includes only those agencies for which DOP is centrally administering the survey; does not include some large agencies that are self-administering the survey.

In November 2007...
- 72 agencies, boards, and commissions participated in the survey
- 35,838 employees took the survey, for a response rate of 58%
- 18 agencies had an overall score of 4.0 or higher
- Statewide, the overall average score was 3.80, compared to 3.78 in April 2006.*

Questions used in the Survey
*A rating scale of 1 (lowest) to 5 (highest) is used. The improvement from 2006 to 2007 is statistically significant at a 95% confidence level. Key factors for statistical significance are size of change, number of respondents, and degree of variability among responses.
