The time and effort required to implement the ESS Leave tool depend on the size of the agency and the complexity of its organizational structure.
Agencies that wish to implement the Leave Tool must appoint a "Change Agent" who will coordinate the process with DES and lead transition and change management activities within the agency.
Implementation requires executive support within the agency and a change agent who will lead your agency through the process. After implementation, the change agent will be asked to help two other agencies with their implementations. This provides a way to share knowledge and lessons learned among agencies.
Department of Enterprise Services will provide training tools and communication templates/samples as needed. So far, agencies have found that training needs were minimal, as the tool is quite intuitive and easy to use. However, a good agency change management plan is important.
