What is required for Affirmative Action (AA) reporting in Washington State?
An employer's affirmative action plan and update must address the employer's recruitment, appointment, promotion, transfer, training, and career development practices.
AA Plans must include:
- A workforce profile reflecting total employees and total employees sorted by affected group status. The affirmative action update must also show a comparison between the current workforce profile and the previous submission.
- A utilization and goals report by job group, for each affected group, showing where goals have been set. The affirmative action update must reflect a goals analysis report indicating where goals have been met for the reporting period.
- A section containing a detailed narrative of the strategies to be employed to reach goals. The affirmative action update must also reflect the strategies employed during the reporting period.
- A response to the governor's affirmative action policy committee recommendations from the previous plan or update.
Availability Data
The Excel data files linked below contain 2000 Census population, labor force data, and summary occupational information for use in developing affirmative action programs, also known as Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), as required for federal and state contract compliance. These data tables are extracted from the 2000 Census EEO Special File.
More information on this data file is available on the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission Web site.
The following links are tables provided as Excel spreadsheets which can be saved and opened as MS Excel. These tables are presented for Washington and each county because a county often constitutes the normal recruiting area for agencies. Agencies may wish to combine data for two or more counties, to coincide with the particular boundaries of their recruiting area.
