The Washington State Department of Personnel is required by law (RCW 41.06.160) to conduct a comprehensive salary and fringe benefit survey. In preparing classification and salary schedules, full consideration is given to the prevailing rates of other public and private employment which includes 215 in-state employers and 11 out-of-state (State employers).
