The Department of Personnel (DOP) supports the philosophy of the Public Disclosure Act that government will be open and accountable. Consistent with the Public Disclosure Act, all DOP records are disclosable, unless otherwise exempt from disclosure.
The following are examples of public records that the Department of Personnel deals with in whole or in part:

The request should contain the following information:

The name, address and telephone number or e-mail address of the person requesting the record;

The date on which the request is being made;

A description of the record(s) requested;

If the requested record is referenced in a current DOP index, a reference to the record as described in the index; and

If the request is for a list of individuals, the requester must certify that the information will not be used for commercial purposes except as permitted by RCW 42.56.070(9).
