From I-5, Southbound

 

Turn off I-5 at Exit #129 (72nd and 84th Streets Exit). Take the right ramp (South 74th Street). Turn right at the light. I-5 runs east-west at this point, so you will be heading north. Go one mile to South Tacoma Way (third light from the freeway turnoff). Turn left onto South Tacoma Way and proceed 0.9 mile to Steilacoom Boulevard (third light from last turn). Turn right onto Steilacoom Boulevard and follow it four miles to Western State Hospital. There will be a roadside stone fence running along the hospital grounds. Turn right at the signal light, which is the main entrance. (See below: Upon entering Western State Hospital grounds.)

 

From I-5, Northbound

 

Turn off I-5 at Exit #127 to South Tacoma Way. Turn right on South Tacoma Way, and drive 0.8 mile to Steilacoom Boulevard (third signal light). Turn left onto Steilacoom Boulevard and follow it 4.1 miles to Western State Hospital. There will be a roadside stone fence running along the hospital grounds. From the Peninsula

 

Exit Highway 16 at the Jackson Way Exit at the Tacoma end of the Narrows Bridge. Turn right on Jackson Way and travel 6.1 miles to Steilacoom Boulevard. Turn right on Steilacoom Boulevard and drive 2.5 miles to Western State Hospital. There will be a roadside stone fence running along the hospital grounds. From Sumner & Bonney Lake

 

Take WA 410 West toward Seattle/Tacoma/WA 167. WA 410 West becomes WA 167 South. Take WA 512 West toward Puyallup/Olympia (12.71 miles). Merge on to South Tacoma Way. Turn left on to Steilacoom Boulevard SW (2.04 miles). Drive 2.5 miles to Western State Hospital. There will be a roadside stone fence running along the hospital grounds. Upon entering Western State Hospital grounds

 

Turn left immediately and follow this road past two large buildings.  The buildings will be on the right and a parking lot will be on the left.  Drive over one speed bump to the stop sign.  The white stucco Chapel Building #23 will be on your right.  Turn right at the stop sign and park on either side of the road.  Enter through the side door of the Chapel.  The EAP office is the second door on the left after entering the building.
