Generally, applicants will take a typing/keyboarding test on a computer keyboard. It is recommended that you practice and build up your typing speed before scheduling the test. You can practice your typing skills by following the links below:

Typing Skills Certificate

Once you have completed the typing test, you will receive a copy your results. We will need to see your picture ID to certify your copy of the typing certificate. Please keep this information in a safe place along with a copy of your application. You will need to take these documents with you to any interviews you may be called for. Your typing certificate will be valid for one year from the date you received it.

Each location is different. Some charge a fee for the giving you the test, while others do not. Please read the information carefully concerning each different location to make sure you attend or schedule your appointment appropriately.

Once you have completed the typing/keyboarding test, you will receive a document stating what your typing speed is.  Make copies and keep the original in a safe place since another original cannot be given at a later date, you would have to take the test over again if you lose your original.
