Training & Development Work Plan

All interns are expected to conduct work in a manner that is consistent with the agreed upon work plan. The work plan contains three areas of training and developmental activities:
The first section identifies training opportunities and assigned projects identified by the agency that the intern is required to perform in order to accomplish the job duties. The second portion identifies examples of activities or assignments the intern must fulfill in order to successfully complete the Internship Program. The third section provides for the intern to identify desired training to support/complement academic studies or areas of interest. Training Opportunities: Executive Fellows: Interns will be required to participate in the Leadership Cadre', a training opportunity that focuses on leadership skills and provides training on topics that enhance growth in the interns' personal and professional lives. It offers enrichment activities such as training, mentoring, guest speakers, and projects. The cadre' meets every other month, and will fulfill the majority of the interns' 10% participation obligation to the program; approximately 160 hours of training and developmental activities during a 12-month period. The supervisor and intern must develop and agree to the training activities outlined in the third section of the work plan within two weeks after hire. The plan will be monitored by the supervisor and the Program Coordinator. Undergraduate Interns: The required training identified for Executive Fellows will also be offered to Undergraduate Interns and will fulfill 5% participation obligation to the program.
