HRMS Upgrade

Project Summary

Over the coming months, the Department of Personnel (DOP) will be upgrading software and hardware for the state’s Human Resource Management System (HRMS).

The upgrade brings system software and hardware up to industry standards, and ensures the continuation of product warranties. In addition, the upgraded software works with most current versions of Microsoft products, including Internet Explorer 7 and Vista. DOP and the Department of Information Services (DIS) are in the process of installing new hardware and preparing for the upgrade.

For the most part, the upgrade will be visible to HRMS users only through small changes to the look and feel of the screens. Functionality will remain the same. Business Warehouse users will find expanded capability, new features, and a new name: “Business Intelligence”. Since the Business Intelligence structure differs from Business Warehouse, users will need to create new queries before they can run reports in Business Intelligence.

The upgrades will be applied in two stages:

  • June 2, 2008 -- Upgrades to the HRMS Portal and to the Business Warehouse.
  • November 10, 2008 -- Technology upgrades to the HR/Payroll system.
