Attention HRMS Users:
The HRMS system will be locked and unavailable to users tomorrow, Friday, September 5th. This lock out is required for the completion of Day 4 payroll processing. The system is scheduled to be available on Saturday morning, September 6th at 6:00am.
This lock out does not apply to BI (Business Intelligence) and BW (Business Warehouse) users.
This lock out does not apply to E-Recruiting users. Until the completion of Day 4 payroll processing, users with HR/payroll professional roles will be locked out of ESS.
Most ESS users will not be locked during Payroll Day 4 activities. Thank you. |

Message: DOP has completed updates in HRMS for the September 1, 2008 2.0% COLA salary increase for non-represented employees. The updates are effective for the September 25 pay date.
We have updated all salaried, indirectly valuated non-represented employees in accordance with the September 1, 2008 General Service Salary Schedule.
We have updated all directly valuated employees in WMS, EMS and B job classes. These employees are listed on the Sept_1_2008_Sal_Increase.xls spreadsheet, on the Updated_EEs tab.
We did not update the employees shown on the Exception_List tab of the spreadsheet, and the exception reason is included. These employees represent:
§ All non-represented, directly valuated hourly employees
§ All employees in default job classes
· Default Job classes are J1J1J through J5J5J. These classes were established for PAY1 to HRMS conversion purposes for employees for which there were no appropriate job classes in HRMS, such as Merit System 9 employees.
· You can contact the DOP Compensation Office after September 1, 2008 for assistance in setting up valid job classes for their employees currently in default job classes.
§ All Y-rated or W-rated employees
· You should review your Y- and W-rated employees, and manually update as appropriate.
Please review the Exception_List worksheet and make updates to Infotype 0008 Basic Pay as needed. Click on the + to the left of your Personnel Area to view the data for your agency. Important: In addition to the employees on the Exception_List tab of the spreadsheet, we will not update any employees who already have a 09/01/2008 or any other future date in the Start field on Infotype 0008 Basic Pay. This is to avoid overriding existing agency actions. You should review and manually update these employees as appropriate.
You will have until September 17 to review and make any additional manual updates for the September 25 pay date.

Labor & Industries presented information on its new online quarterly reporting system at the August 26, 2008 PPA Meeting.
Technical difficulties yesterday prevented Ginny Schenck and Elaina Brown, L&I from showing a planned “sneak peek” of the new system which goes live on September 2, 2008.
They have revised the PowerPoint from yesterday’s meeting to include screen shots of the new system. Since this goes live next week, we are providing you today with the revised slideshow as well as a handout from the meeting. The formal PPA Meeting notes, including the other presentations, will be available shortly.

What? PPA Meeting August 26, 2008 9:00 a.m. to noon – PPA General Meeting 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. - Garnishment Training OB-2 Auditorium Who? HRMS HR and Payroll Offices Why? Agenda When? Distribute immediately
Message: The August 26 PPA Meeting Agenda has been published on the HRMS Customer Support Web site.
The August Meeting will present important information on Positive Time Reporting and Labor and Industries Worker’s Compensation (Industrial Insurance) Quarterly Reporting, including HRMS reports and the new L&I Express Filing system.
The PPA meeting is from 9:00 a.m. to noon in the OB-2 Auditorium. Also: the Attorney General’s Office will present Garnishment Training from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. If you are attending this optional training in the afternoon, you must print and bring your own course materials. Please print the Garnishment manual and bring it to the OB-2 Auditorium.
Other Materials are provided as a desk reference, but you do not have to bring them to the training.

What? Employee Self Service (ESS) Portal Accounts Who? HRMS HR and Payroll Offices Why? E-Mail notification sent in error to some Portal users When? Distribute immediately – Urgent!
Message: In preparation for the DOP HRMS Upgrade, Release B, a program was tested in our development environment (a working location in the system where changes are made prior to being moved to production). This created an account and password for approximately 2,000 Portal users and an automatic e-mail notification was sent to them in error from “HRMSbasis@dop.wa.gov.” This does not affect their production Portal accounts and security was not compromised.
We are in the process of individually notifying everyone who received the e-mail notification with instructions to disregard. If you are contacted directly, please let them know they will receive a follow-up e-mail and they can delete the automatic notification they originally received. The mentioned accounts will be deleted. We apologize for any confusion.

Attention BI Users!! Important Update:
The SAP Business Intelligence (BI) application will be unavailable due to application maintenance starting at 5pm Tuesday August 5, 2008 and will be available again at 6am Wednesday August 6, 2008. This type of maintenance is usually scheduled to occur between the regular scheduled maintenance times of 6pm to 6am Monday through Friday (or on Saturday/Sunday). We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Note: BI is currently available Monday through Friday 6am to 6pm. |
