A review by the Director of the Department of Personnel is the initial step of some appeal processes and can be the final step for others.

If either party disagrees with something in the Director’s decision, they may file written exceptions (appeals) to the Personnel Resources Board (PRB).
Not all appeals start with a Director's Review
Appeals in some areas are filed directly with the PRB. You can find more information about filing an appeal by visiting the PRB web site, and by reading the Key Facts and Q&A documents that are available on this page.
